About This Game

Ramp Rivals is a sprint racer with stunt tracks: six cars, one finish line and no laps, with you starting at the back of the grid. The 24 races run through a giant toy room, a neon city, open sky roads and a candy canyon, and each one lasts well under a minute. Hold the screen to drive and slide your finger to steer, then use nitro you earn from airtime and drifts to get past the five rivals. Placing in the top three opens the next race and pays coins for a garage of four cars.

How to Play

Goal: Cross the finish line ahead of as many of the five rivals as you can; a top-three place opens the next of the 24 races.

  1. 01Choose a race in one of the four worlds; the first time, a short guide shows the controls.
  2. 02Wait for the 3-2-1 countdown, then hold anywhere on the screen, or ↑ and W, to get off the grid.
  3. 03Steer by sliding your finger left or right while holding, or with ← → and A/D on a keyboard.
  4. 04Tap NITRO, or press Space, whenever a cell is full to burn it for two seconds of extra pace.
  5. 05Pick the lane a hammer, roller or sweeper has just left; hitting one spins you and costs most of your speed.
  6. 06Finish in the top three to earn stars and coins, then spend them on upgrades or a new car in the garage.

Gameplay Features

  • 24 sprint races across a toy room, a neon grid, a sky circuit and a candy canyon
  • Five AI rivals that use the same physics, crash into the same traps and use nitro too
  • Loops, gap jumps, boost pads, side wind, icing and roads without walls
  • Nitro cells that fill in the air, while drifting and from perfect landings
  • Four cars with different handling plus speed, acceleration and handling upgrades
  • One-finger driving on phones, full keyboard support, progress saved on your device

Tips & Strategies

  • Carry speed into every loop. If the car is under roughly 54 km/h at the top it falls out, and the slow restart past the loop costs several seconds.
  • Skip the middle of the road at a hammer: the head moves fastest there, so the side it has just swung away from is the safer lane.
  • Wait for a boost pad's push to end before you fire nitro. The two never add up, so using both at once wastes a cell.
  • Keep the wheels straight in the air and touch down lined up with the road; a perfect landing hands back almost a third of a nitro cell.
  • On the open sky roads, keep to the upwind side: a gust then pushes you toward the middle of the road instead of over the edge.
  • Replay earlier races for 1st place: stars only count your best finish, and both the Dune Hopper and the Viper GT need stars before coins.

Supported Devices

Ramp Rivals plays in desktop browsers with a keyboard or mouse and on phones and tablets with one-finger hold-and-drag steering. It works in landscape and portrait and needs WebGL.

Ramp Rivals FAQ

Can I steer Ramp Rivals with one finger?

Yes. Press anywhere on the race view and the car accelerates; keep the finger down and move it sideways to steer. The point you steer around travels with your finger, so you never run out of screen. A second finger on the NITRO button lets you boost without letting go of the throttle.

Where does nitro come from in Ramp Rivals?

Each race starts with one of three nitro cells filled. Time in the air, drifting at speed, perfect landings and the blue canisters on the road refill them. One tap empties a full cell over two seconds and lifts your top speed by 30 percent.

What do the traps on the road do in Ramp Rivals?

Swinging hammers, rolling spike drums, rotating sweeper arms, pop-up posts and barrier blocks spin the car for under a second and take most of its speed. Cones only cost a little speed. Every trap leaves a lane open, so you can always drive past without braking.

What happens if I miss a jump in Ramp Rivals?

The car falls and, about a second later, is placed back on the road just after the gap at a slow 47 km/h. You keep racing, but the rivals that cleared the jump gain several seconds on you. The same thing happens if you leave a road without walls or stall at the top of a loop.

How many races and worlds does Ramp Rivals have?

There are 24 races split evenly over four worlds: a playroom with walled toy tracks, a neon grid with loops and rollers, a cloud circuit with open edges and wind, and a candy canyon with slippery icing. Each race opens once you finish the one before it in the top three.

Are the Ramp Rivals cars different or just new colours?

They drive differently. The Comet is the balanced starter, the Dune Hopper flies and lands best and loses least in a crash, the Viper GT is the straight-line car that slides in bends, and the Falcon F has the most pace and grip but suffers most from a crash. Eight paints are purely cosmetic.
